Tasting notes
A wine of many dimensions. The wise combination of varietals makes it sophisticated. On the nose it recalls wintry aromas, deep chocolate, smoke, mint, tobacco and very subtle, integrated oak. On the palate it is fresh and broad, and the friendliness and depth stand out.
Winemaking
Our greatest expression within the Abito philosophy. Its secret lies in the Malbec from plot 16B: a clone that adapted very well to the estate and its conditions. That small parcel yields 60 quintals per hectare and sits in perfect balance with its surroundings. That Malbec is made separately and then blended in proportions that shift vintage after vintage. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot always join it. The blend is made every July and matures in barrel for 18 to 24 months, plus 8 to 10 months in bottle.
